Hi all,
I get a few missing string errors when playing this mission in the Freespace 2 regular campaign. I can join and play the mission, its just that the Iceni and science cruiser are immobile and wont go to the regulus node.... all enemy waves spawn as usual. Is there a way of skipping this mission? I tried cheats and it doesnt work.
Thanks

:wtf: If the mission includes the Iceni and a science cruiser, it is actually Rebels & Renegades.
If you just want to get on with the campaign, there is a "Exit loop" button on the upper right corner of the mission briefing. That will throw you out of the SOC loop and back into the rest of the campaign.
Nonetheless, what is happening on your end is not normal. Some additional information would not hurt. Are you playing vanilla FS2? Or FSO? If FSO, are you also using a set of MediaVPs?

There is also some debate on whether or not he actually scanned the Iceni...
-
... That would work too.

of course I scanned the Iceni lol I also scanned the Hinton to complete the bonus objective. If I exit the loop will I be able to play the SOC missions throught the mission simulator?

I know this is a bit late, but yes, you can play any campaign mission from the simulator (press ctrl-shift-s, if you haven't unlocked the mission).

I also have what I think is the same exact problem in Rebels and Renegades. As soon as the Yaaru is destroyed, both the Iceni and the Hinton stop dead in their tracks and their orders change to "No Order". The Iceni still defends itself, but it and the science cruiser just stop moving or doing anything else. Note that it happens no matter whether I scan both ships, only one of them, or neither.
I'm playing the r7723 SSE2 Windows Nightly, though the problem was already there before apparently. I do get three error messages when loading the mission: first one (http://img825.imageshack.us/i/fs2bug1.png/), second one (http://img33.imageshack.us/i/fs2bug2.png/), third one (http://img29.imageshack.us/i/fs2bug3.png/).

Please try a new nightly.

Nightly r7737 did the trick. The first error message still showed up, but all ships acted as expected.

The E found and fixed that on 7751, so stay tuned!

If you cant mananage to fix that Iceni won't move problem but still want to continue the S.O.C. missions...
You are able to skip a mission if you fail it 5 times in a row...
