Title: PCS mapping difficulties
Post by: Rowhider on September 14, 2011, 12:48:50 am
Hi all!

It makes several long years than I didn't have make spaceships for FS2 and since yesterday I've got Truespace 7.6 (now free).
I've done fastly an hull for test and put a map on it.
When I launch the POF2COB conversion, no errors: the mesh is found but it detects no maps?!

I've done several tests, with maps in TGA 32bits, or in PC 256 colors, in DDS.... But PCS (1.3 or 2.0) don't see any maps!

Could someone explain to me why? maybe I've forgot something!

It could be as simple as where you are placing the map files. Where are you placing the maps and the .pof/.cob?

Also, double check under the textures tree in PCS2.1 that the map data is in the pof/cob.

Thank you guys but i'v found the solution: Truespace 7.61 *.cob format is not compatible.
I've try to downward the release to V4.x and that's run :) !

Word of advice, don't use truespace. It will just lead to broken smoothing on our model. Get Blender or something that can write collada dae, and everything will be fine.
