Title: HUD default colors
Post by: Kolgena on October 03, 2011, 12:47:54 am
This may be a stupid question, but I've wondered how to get the colors of the default HUD restored. I remember in retail, there were presets you could use when customizing the HUD, and the classic one had amber, olive, etc. I can't find those presets anymore, so have been using monocolor HUDs for the last few years.

How do I get them back?

Thx

They should still be there. See if you don't have some hud_#.hcf overriding them in your data/players files.

I'm probably off on this, but I think that option 3 or 4 is the original retail look.

Amber, Green and Blue (Cyan?) are the optional ones specified by the installed HCF files from the retail media.

AFAIK, there are only 3 HCF files under a clean default install, the regular "default" colors are built in.

HUD configs save in data/players/*.hcf (where * is the name given in the "Save" dialogue)

Attached to post the default installed 3 HCF files

Thanks. I've somehow managed to lose those files, so I appreciate the upload.
