Title: Good online shopping carts?
Post by: S-99 on October 26, 2011, 11:13:22 pm
A lady hired me for making her a website. She wants to sell her art.

Web hosting is where i'll start. Will website hosting matter in the area of selling stuff (such as terms of agreement restrictions)? And what are good places for hosting?

EDIT: Topic changed. What are some easy to use no bull**** online shopping carts? Do some hosting sites provide them? Or always through a third party like paypal. I'd say she could just use bitcoin, but it's adoption is still growing (no bitcoin is not a scam), and it's still new, that i'd rather her go through conventional money channels.

In the mean time, thx for the list of hosting providers. I got enough to look over for consideration.

I use Dreamhost (http://www.dreamhost.com) for both my shared hosting, and my VPS. Ive been with them since '06, and it's been pretty smooth. Their terms are fairly lenient, and you shouldnt run into trouble unless something is illegal in the state of california.

I'm in alaska so that shouldn't be a total problem unless i have some similar laws up here. Anyone else? I'd like to compile a list to go through.

Try Yahoo Small Business? My company is working on opening an online store through that. It's not extremely easy to use or customize, but it works.
See if Google has anything similar as well.
