Well, it's found here (http://www.g-news.ch/articles/nhp200nc/).
It's interesting. Touted as caseless, but the case really got replaced with something else.

First found it featured here (http://www.siliconindia.com/shownews/Ugliest_Laptops_Ever_Made-nid-96520-cid-31.html). It's not a laptop just like the original bondi blue imacs weren't laptops either. It happened to be semi mobile, and tossed in for laughs clearly.
EDIT: The title of thread
-
How many seconds can it operate before the overheated CPU ignites the foam?

Im guessing the CPU will shut down before that.... just....
-
It's (The foam is) heat resistant up to 100°C and more or less in-flammable (ie. fireproof). It's also waterproof, non conductive and -and that's really important- it's light.
I'd say indefinitely...
-
well just look at that...
-
also the processor is P1 200mhz iirc they were only a few steps beyond no cooling required and will happily run with passive cooling
-
For the professional contractor in your life.
-
when you think about it a case is really just a box that you put your electronics into. though its wise to make a case that blocks electrical noise, can contain any shorts, and facilitates cooling. this cellulose foam, being a non-conductive insulator is not well suited to any of those jobs.

#1. I see no mainboard / mainboard connecters. (excluding the mouse/keyboard cords)
#2. The cards appear to bow away from what I would consider to be a flat surface. I would imagine such disfiguration would render a board damaged.
#3. No good pictures.
I therefore assume this to be false, until otherwise proven.
-
i have my doubts as well, theres not enough space there for the rear pannel connectors that would be to the left of all the cards there. unless its some really oddball form factor. or if hes doing something like this (http://hackaday.com/2011/10/19/beefing-up-your-laptops-gaming-chops-with-an-external-gpu/).

There is this picture...
....which does little justice since it conveniently has the making of the computer pictures pretty darn tiny.
They're hard to make out. I bet if they were hi-res pictures, we could see much better that the innards are bull****.
I did however remember cement computer (http://phildowd.com/?p=85).

I think foam computer guy was going for something similar, but not with security in mind.
This doesn't even apply here. I don't care anymore, this thread is all about bricking. EDIT: No it's not about just bricking anymore.

At least that last one has a good cooling system.
-
yea, until the ice melts and shorts out the electronics.

(I'm sure you got it, I've just been dying to use that macro)

This one looks like fun.

-
what rpm is required for takeoff?
-
3200. Set fuel mixture to auto rich and make sure you've got full flaps. Raise flaps and gear at 200 km/h. :P
-
FINALLY, now there's a decent excuse to keep children away from my pc.
-
i considered using brushless motor driven ducted fans for r/c aircraft to cool my rig. so what if they draw 4 amps of current, they blow like a good vietnamese prostitute.

Dust...

Wall computer :ick:

Would be great to watch someone projectile vomit on this computer.

Oh Dell computers. Dust magnets most frequently owned by people who didn't realize there were parts inside those funny gray boxes.
Edit: For new page fail.
-
I don't think I've ever seen dust of that color before, unless you count Mars.
-
Idk, wall computer picture with some person projectile vomiting i think would be interesting to watch. That'd be one hell of a way to deliver a jolt to the body via exposed electronics.
This one's actually pretty cool.

Or, really take advantage of that heat coming off your processor.

Yeah, computer dust is typically greyish...
Maybe Hawaii. I remember the dirt being that color in places.

its a smokers computer.
-
is that a boat prop serving as a fan?? :wtf:
-
nah, its a blade out of your typical box fan (probibly where the grills there come from as well), you know the kind favored for construction jobs, like making drywall mud/paint dry faster.

Ugh I cleaned my dad's PC once, whose case was partly open. Really dark colored dust, definitely not nice to work with.
Also, DO NOT let your computer get that dusted! It can most definitely damage it. Though I'm sure I don't need to point that out here.. o.o

Dust...

since when the **** is dust brown? all the dust in my pc is grey-ish
that looks more like somebody decided to dump a bucket of sawdust in the case than anything else -.-
-
May have been a workshop computer or something. The dust that gathers in mine doesn't look all that different, but I live in a basement apartment, and my parent's live in a 100 year old farm house.
Could also be the flash messing with the colour balance.
-
I don't know, it looks pretty much the same color as all the computer dust I've ever seen, except a few fold thicker. Blecgh.
-
Mine usually comes out as gray powdery stuff, with some cute fluffy little dust bunnies on top.
Speaking of dust, that uber-fan seems like a good solution for it. I don't think anything could stick to horizontal surfaces with that much airflow.
-
i usually just get dust bunnies.
-
I've seen some computers with dust that sort of brown before. It's dust with what looks like to be mixed with some brown dirt particles. Someone probably kept this computer on the floor near the wipe your shoes off mat. But, dirty stuff does get more disgusting. The dell does look nice in comparison to these.
WTF is this?

Different computer with heatsink trying to create it's own worm hole to a cleaner universe.

More brown dust.
