...there is apparently widepsread outrage (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/toronto-zoo-decision-to-separate-gay-penguins-sparks-international-outcry/article2231781/) over the Toronto zoo's decision to temporarily split up two pair-bonded male penguins in order to attempt to use them for breeding.
Let's be clear, I can discuss homosexual behaviours across species with the best of them, but there is very little to suggest that homosexual mating behaviours in other species, particularly birds, is a direct equivalent of homosexuality in humans.
The fact that gay right's groups are occupying their time with this is, frankly, ridiculous.

Even sadder is the 408 comments. At least the majority of them appear to be sarcastic replies along the lines of "really? we're arguing about THIS?"

Dont forget the gay cats (http://jezebel.com/5740441/boy-cats-marry-in-first+ever-same+sex-feline-wedding) that got their way.

You don't want to fap a cat.

Penguins just don't get rights.

Hey! That's deliberate specism and I resent it! So much for a fair world.
When a penguin wants what he wants, who are you to deny him?!
In all seriousness, I don't believe the 'bonded' penguins would at all suffer from separation. Some penguins do bond for life, but I don't think African penguins do. I'm not against gay rights, but the activists really should focus on other issues... maybe those pertaining to actual humans this time?
