Remembrance day, armistice day, whatever you want.to.call it. At 11.11 today. Bit.of hush for a minute to reflect on what we owe those who laid down their lives in conflicts past an.present.
-
We've already had it here in Australia - my work let us know when the minute silence was, but it was slightly ruined by the fact they left the PA system on during the minute.
But regardless, defintely important to remember the sacrifice made by our men and women during any conflict.
-
Curious! I thought it was 2 mins silence at 11am? Not 1 min at 11.11am?
-
It was two mins at 11:00.
But I'm a bit head ****ed atm. Work stress.
-
It's the thought that really counts here, not the precise time or length. And I know the memory was strong here in Australia today.
-
Lest we forget. All of our guys and girls over in the MEAO and other ops are doing damn fine work and those who've fallen in conflicts past shall never be forgotten.
I can't find the one for Iraq, but any Aussie who hasn't come across this (http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/gallery-e6frg6n6-1226066757794) or anyone who's plain curious about our 'Honour Roll' of people who haven't made it back from Afghanistan might want to take a look at it. Remember stumbling upon this at school and having to hold back tears when I saw how young some of these guys were and some who had families, and others who bore great resemblance to some of my friends.

Every one a Hero.
Uk Equivalent (http://www.soldiermagazine.co.uk/memoriam/index.htm).
I knew a few Royal Engineers on it myself.
