Just had to put something up. :)
ships out on patrol in a big universe
Hope it's not to dark
Made in MAX
-
It's good, but a little too dark, no action, and pretty "empty".
But I still like it. :)
-
Hmmmm. I keep expecting a huge black block to drift into view.
-
Looks like a scene from the beginning of a Star Wars movie with the planet above the screen.
In wide screen format too!!!:D
-
Try writting "2001: A Space Odyssey" across the bottom.
-
spiffy
is the sun rendered as a glow or was it added in post-processing?
-
It is rendered as a glow. That is I added a lens flare effect in MAX.
Technically, I guess, you could call it post processing.
-
Very good! It is a bit dark but overall it's got a nice feel to it, I especially like the planet.

I agree. I almost wonder if it would be better without the ships at all; instead, just have the planet and the stars.
-
Thanks :)
The planet texture is Mars, btw.
-
Where do y'all get your planet textures?! All of them I've seen are amazing. I'd love to use them for some of my renders. (Of course, usually when I render something, the ship doesn't have a texture, as texturing in Blender ... :ha: :mad2:
-
From here (http://gw.marketingden.com/planets/planets.html), I believe. I grabbed the large planet textures.
-
No offense, but I don't exactly like the planet texture, not detailed enough. (it looks like a texturemap for a game)
But the sun and stars are awesome, same with the subtle glow of the planet.
