Title: Winter Vacation in DC
Post by: Pred the Penguin on December 22, 2011, 04:53:12 pm
So, I'm headed toward Washington DC this Christmas with a group of about 13 or so people, mainly adults and their kids. We'll probably stay there for two days before heading toward our next destination.

Aside from some of the most obvious attractions such as the Smithsonian, anyone know what to look out for there?

Try and find the monuments you haven't heard of before.

Ooh! Walking/swimming tour of sites featured in Fallout 3. Also pretend there're mutants.

Korean War Memorial is pretty epic, especially if you can catch it at night with a little bit of snow.

This is actually what I had in mind specifically with my earlier post. I had never heard of it before going to DC, and it was one of my favorite things I saw there. The other thing I really liked were all the epic quotes engraved on some of the government buildings.

Well, my trip was definitely interesting to say the least. I'll have to go back one day to see things more at my own pace though.
