If you received any presents you wish to show your fellow HLPers, this is the thread to do it in.

On the left: Marshall Half-Stack All-Tube Guitar Amplifier. The cleanest and purest sound I have ever heard in a guitar amp.
On the right: Fender Rhodes electric piano, ca. 1975, seventy three keys, all-original, one of the first widely available electric pianos. These things are really hard to come by and I'm very surprised my parents went to such great lengths to find a good deal on one (under 1000).
On top of the piano, left: USB Interface, allows me to plug recording equipment into my computer. I have yet to test this one, we'll see how it fares.
On top of the piano, right: Yamaha mixing board, eight channels, with built-in DSP effects and stereo output.
Not pictured: Vinyl copy of "Monuments and Melodies" by Incubus, a copy of Coldplay's latest album, Skyward Sword, $75 cash, with a $25 Visa gift card.

Not going to bother trying to photograph it, but I got some boot laces that are 6 feet long. That's pretty near two meters. Per

New computer monitor (HDMI-capable... finally), some calendars, a bunch of silly knick-knacks like a magnetic floating pen, new USB drive (like I needed one), some new shirts... and the complete box set of the Fullmetal Alchemist manga (that's 27 volumes + a novel).
And enough Christmas cash that I'm contemplating updating my copy of Sibelius. Mine's about three versions old now, but even upgrades for it are ****ing expensive.

A Hofbrauhaus pilsner glass that my brother got from the Pittsburgh location
A few clothing items and sundries
The usual stocking of candy
That's not counting the crap-load of new Steam games and hefty amount of anime I've purchased for myself in various winter sales. It's been a good year. :D
-
Got my first decent camera, I have an interest in photography, so my parents got me a FinePix S2950 bridge camera to begin with. It's a pretty nifty first camera. I've been experimenting with it mainly in manual mode to get a feeling for how ISO, Aperture size and exposure time effect everything.

A Gerber\Bear Grylls multitool, a book about survival by Bear Grylls, a multi function map tool (thermometer, hygrometer, viewfinder, magnifier, ruler, compass, gradienter, LED light, firestarter and... a whitle :)) and a suvival card (a stainless steel card with various basic tools stamped into it). Plus a small LED flashlight. That and a roll of duct tape could get you out of every trouble you can get into, provided you're not in the air or dealing with electronics. Might come in handy on the next paramilitary camp.

- An old NFS game since I've been getting into NASCAR lately.
The old NFS games were good, I've still got copies of the first few.

No gifts for me, guess i'm 'too old' for that now =P. I should buy myself a gift posthumously today... let it be wrapped up and put it in below the christmas tree while it still stands. :P
However to do that right I need someone to zap my short-term memory like Men in Black so I can be all surprised I got a gift from a unknown benefactor..

I've been getting into NASCAR lately.
WHY????????
its cars. driving in a circle. for HOURS.
-
I got a few things for myself as usual.

I buy most of my Lego sets at fan event sales to get the discounts there. The S@H page also has some nice clearance items at this time of the year, although the good stuff sells out very quickly.
Beyerdynamic DT-880 Premium 600-ohm headphones
I picked up a 990 earlier this month. The Amazon prices on all of these have been fluctuating a lot lately, and you have to watch them carefully to find a decent deal.
-

Put some skittles in a toilet and flush it, there, you've just watched a NASCAR race.

About $650, which magically turned into a HAF 932 Advanced, Corsair H100, and HD 6970.

But on my new TV it's like flushing skittles down a toilet in HIGH DEFINITION.
But yes, no, I see the argument here. :P It's basically the only car related thing on our free to air sports channel, prior to that, Formula 1 was slightly less of a redneck sport and proved actually interesting to watch. That, and the Bathurst 1000 is also damn cool to watch.

Bathurst isn't NASCAR - the V8s are basically touring car races, totally different thing.

You would lose that bet
I don't get photos of me taken

I want to see some good televised rally driving. Back roads, sharp turns, switchbacks...

That you know of... Big Brother's watching you all the time...

All someone would need to do is ascertain the address of all the people that have posted in this thread, thereby pretty much casing everyone here for a prompt robbery. Personally, I call ssmit132's place. Those Mythbuster DVDs are mine! :drevil:
As for me, the Festivus festivities went off okay. Helped my Dad get the Aluminum Pole out of the crawlspace, so I got off quite lightly during his turn at the Airing of Grievances. Thankfully, he's also a heavy smoker, so getting him pinned during the Feats of Strength earned us an early end to Festivus. Good times.

You could try robbing me
Let me know when you get past the cat and the dog. I'll be in my room playing Skyrim.

Oh I know, was watching NASCAR on OneHD, also managed to sneak in some Bathurst a few times now which I found pretty good. I'm not a total driving n00b. :P

the unfortunate side effect of this is that whenever a picture of you inevitably DOES get taken it instantly becomes ridiculous simply because you're in it.

I wish I got that Super Star destroyer lego set!
It must have over 500 pieces! Tis' is a beast.
I used to have the Bionicles. Sadly, I gave them away :(
-

...it says "3152 pcs" right on the box, champ.
-
and that's over 500! :D
-
But not over 9000, so that's a bit of a disappointment.
Poor form, Star Wars.

I've got all the original Toa, the Bohrok, the Bohrok-Kal, Mata Nui, the Special Toa with his Staff weapon, golden mask, and ship thingy, and of course the Rahkshi
I stopped after everything got weird (pretty well after the Rahkshi)
Still got them all. Perhaps I'll pull them out and put them on display...

i rather miss my late 80s/early 90s space sets. i went to technic around '94 and collected up till '99. of course i also bought both robotics sets and somone gave me a more modern technic set last satanmas. frankly i got enough stuff i can build anything, and i dont hesitate to mod parts or add my own electronics to them. but if i had those space sets i could also make them look hella cool, to add some form to function. at the time i had kept space and technic parts separated, and i kept the technics, but i gave the space sets to my sister when i moved out after highschool. but she lost many of them and mom had a habbit of destroying anything that didnt seem useful to her, namely all the cool looking transparent parts. some of those parts arent even in production anymore. its quite sad. when i was reunited with the parts some years later, what once had filled a large plastic crate was reduced down to fit into a small metal tin. of course i really didnt care, as my legos were still in my grandmas shed down in az at the time. i only got them back a couple years ago and have since done advanced **** like pneumatic engines, robotics, and cnc machines.

I got a NEW Xbox 360 which came bundled with Fable III. And I got a terrabyte external HDD, but I can't get goddamn USB Loader to work :'(. I got a hat and a scarf. And I got a box containing Axe bodywash, bodyspray, deodorant, shampoo, and conditioner.
I did not get my beads, so I cannot make bead sprites. :'(
And I found out what I want for my birthday.

I got the Bionicle comics, too. Up to 21, I think, but I'm missing issue two. I think after the Rahkshi when the Mask of Light came out things got more interesting in a good way. That's what I think. ;)

Wood Spice ftw.
