Title: memory problem
Post by: burnt123 on December 29, 2011, 08:45:34 am: hello all. i just built a new computer but i cant play freespace 2. it says i have 0mb of memory, when i have 8gb total and task manager says im using 16%. im using windows 7 home premium. can someone tell me whats going on? i play other games fine.

Follow this tutorial (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=78710.0) to install FSOpen.

Post by: The E on December 29, 2011, 03:37:00 pm: I don't think that will help. The problem is an integer overflow in the retail executable when you have 2 GB or more RAM. The only solution is to use FSO.

Post by: Macfie on December 29, 2011, 04:16:01 pm: Works on my computer. I'm running 8gb of ram and a 64 bit vista system . I had the same problem when I got a new computer and the compatibility change corrected it.
