Well while on vacation a TOILETTE NINJA! came out of no wheres and put a knife through my laptop!
no really, my toilette flooded my apartment and killed my laptop that was on the ground, which was sitting in a half inch of water.
So while looking for a new laptop i need some explanations and advice between how many processors (dual , triple, quad core) and the type (Intel etc), and how much ram is good (DDR3) and VID CARDS, all that good stuff.
What I need: I want good fast performance and it will run some decent programs (visual basic, microsoft office, etc)
Id like a minimum of 3 core but if a 2 core outshadows it let me know.
Watching DVD and using Cd's so i guess entertainment geared.
Id love for it to be able to run FSO/scp in all its glory!
500 GIG HDD minimum
~ 15inch screen
What I want: To be able to run C&C4 and possibly other modern games.
On Tiger Direct: www.tigerdirect.com I'm looking for LAPTOP in the 200-499$ price range.
Any help would be appreciated.

A decent Laptop today costs about 500-600€, has a dual- or quad core CPU, 4 to 8 GB of RAM, a halfway decent graphics chip (Meaning anything not made by Intel), and 320 to 500 GB worth of HDD space, and a 15.4 or 17" screen with resolutions of 1440x900 or upwards.
All models that fall within this range should be more than sufficient for the purposes you mentioned, and should be able to provide a halfway decent gaming experience too.

I never hit "post" so i dont know how that happened lol. But yeah first post is Close to the origional so, lets start again.
EDIT: Anyways, anyone else have any advice for what will work and run FSO?
