I dont know why but when I start freespace it zooms in to the point where i can't see half my HUD. Dont like playing on these conditions, any ideas?

Take a look at the FS FAQ (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0).
Also, please provide us with some more information, like which FSO version you are using and what your resolution and GPU are. In addition, use the info in the FAQ to provide us with a log file.

FSO isn't installed on this computer, I have it installed on another at a different house though. I have an Acer Aspire x3910. Current resolution is 1920x1080, CPU is Pentium (R) Dual core E5700 @ 3.00 GHz. Video Card is Intel (R) G45/43 Express Chipset, 4G of ram. I am running on a T.V screen though, and the screen is 1920x1080.

Why aren't you using FSO? Do note that the retail exe cannot be run at resolutions over 1024x768; I assume what is happening is that the screen you are using is unable to scale the picture correctly.

I have FSO, its on a computer at my other parents house, it's not on this one and I wont install it until I fix the screen. Also, im still in highschool so it's not like im some 30 year old living with his parents. But you're right about the resizing, I'll see what i can do about that.

The simplest thing you could do about it would be to use FSO.

I concur. The two options available for you are:
1. To set a scaling mode that preserves aspect ratio (usually this is found from GPU control panel, or your display might support such scaling mode).
2. Run in native display resolution, for which you will need to use FS2 Open because retail FS2 only runs at 1024x768 resolution no matter what you do.
Option 2 offers significantly better returns.

I installed FSO and tried it. It actually made it zoom in more, surprisingly.

Scratch that, I fixed the resolutions. Had to go into video and adjust it. Thanks for the help
