I decided to play this mission with the features set to off and no crash occurred.

Did you try the same mission with one of the recent 3.6.14 Release Candidate builds?

Nope I mostly do not use the release candidate builds  I figure they are not to stable, although  I  can not say that 3.6.12 is all that stable.

What would cause this error just never seen this before.

The RCs are very stable, they wouldn't be RCs if they weren't. .12 is dated by this point, and mods are already using features found only in RC (WiH needs RC1 for example) and .13 nightlies (The Antagonist among others) meaning they will not be stable with .12. It is my understanding that the way FSO reports errors (or something like that) was also changed somewhere along the line in .13, meaning people are going to want debug logs of a recent build.

Get the most recent RC (.14RC4) from here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=79747.0) and try again with a debug build.

The latest version of FSport was made for and tested with nightly builds, which means it's not guaranteed to work with .12. If you want to play it on a stable build, take .14RC.

Oh I was so confused ok I try the .14 with debug.   I am not full geek yet so what does RC and WiH mean?  Is there a link for the newbies with this information.

Thanks

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle#Release_candidate and http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70745.0 , respectively.

The internet? Googling? (Edit: actually, I did at one point ponder about a wiki article or something containing some recommended lingo, but never got around to it.)

**** yeah, I'm amazing. I can write articles with a single thought!

Seriously though, that's exactly what I had in mind. With the possible addition of some programming terms and abbreviations, such as RC, build etc. But yeah.
