just a few tings that the new game should have (in my oppinion).
- to add multi-part turrets on the sides of warships;7
- to be able to jump from one place to another (like in X-Wing Alliance, but instead of having nav. bouys you just pick the coordinates from your nav. computer), and the battle contines in the sector you left without you.;7
- to enter the hangar in mid-battle and be able to rearm yourself, or to switch crafts (rearly possible) and get some repair (not above 50%).;7
- for capships to be modular, so you can blow whole sections up, and the ship still fires at you from the remaining guns.;7
- whan hit by a large weapon, the capship shakes and the lights blink.;7
- to be able to eject (a pickup ship must be included then);7
- to pick wingmen (like in Starsiege) that evolve with time.;7
Pretty much, isn't it!!!!!:D

Multi-part turrets: yes.
Jumping around: yes.
hangar ship-change: definitely yes..I think.
capship damage: yes, but nearly impossible.
capship shaking: somehow I don't see the ship shaking. you could have it shudder and maybe break, but..shaking, nah, you don't shake in space.
ejecting: don't need a pickup ship, use support ship
pick wingmen: heck yes, but nearly impossible. Your wingmen wouldn't say anything in mission because you can't sccript it with a choice like that.

The ship shaking is a stupid idea, and i wrote it wrong, I ment the lights blink! You know, power is unstable after a hit.
The ship beeing modular is ultra-difficult, so scratch that.
The selectable wingmen can do. The have some things they can say, but most of the talk would be done from other wings/ships/command!

About the wingmen, yeah, I agree with you, you'd just be sacrificing a bit of the personality you get from having the same wingmen the whole game. Ah well.

It can be done. Some other games had it done pretty well.
