Title: just started testing build 3.6.14 on intel mac
Post by: gamerman on February 18, 2012, 09:34:26 pm
I have played only two missions granted but not a crash so far . I did notice that every time a ship either a fighter or capital ship is destroyed the game has this very slight pause with either 3.6.12 or 3.6.14 not a show stopper however. I noticed this in 3.6.10 on windows when I first started using Freespace 2 open.  I did not see this with 3.6.12 for windows. The graphics card in this mac is a 9400M and snow leopard 10.6.8. Oh I am playing FS1-3.3. I thought I would pass this information to you.

Good job on keeping Freespace alive

Update

Been playing now for a few days and still no issues, with FS1. The slight pause is still there does not matter if you play with the the mediavps or not.<-- this was on the same mission]. I did find out that you cannot have more than one pilot at one time, did I miss something :nervous:  so I need to finish FS1 port before I test FSO2. If I do get a crash except a bug log  :) for now cheers.

Can you elaborate further? What do you mean by multiple pilots "at one time"? What happens when you try and create more pilots?
This doesn't sound like something that should be happening.

I play and develop primarily on Mac, and can have more than one pilot (obviously not at the same time, but they are all there in the pilot select screen).

I seem not to be able to have two pilots when I do I can not  select freespace 2 campaign for that pilot. I give back a error that looks like the same error that you would get  if you selected the wrong campaign.  but I created this pilot for that campaign.  I bet it is me selecting something wrong  :nervous: I will check this again and reply back.

Are you cloning the pilot? If so, I think you will get a warning first time you run the new pilot with the second mod folder, but it can be fixed under the Campaign screen

Nope, I just create a new one not clone it.  I try to select freespace 2 campaign but the game keeps going back to the FSport campaign.

Do you have FSPort as an active mod?
