Title: Crash on first mission
Post by: Buckshee Rounds on February 19, 2012, 12:20:37 pm
I've just downloaded the updated part 1 to see the shiny new models. Unfortunately it crashes straight after the loading screen finishes. Same story when trying the blade itself. I've ran normal fs2open to make sure my card is up to it (onboard graphics unfortunately since my slot is busted, works fine without mv-advanced). I've tried turning graphics features on and off etc. What am I missing?

Error log below.

I can see everything in the tech room ok, bad news is I created a new pilot so none of the UEF stuff is there. :(

Not that it helps with the crash, but you can temporarily unlock everything in the techroom by hitting Ctrl+Shift+S, though that also includes ships and especially weapons that were never supposed to be shown in there. If you leave and re-enter the techroom, everything will be back to normal.

I've been having this problem too. I used to be able to play Blue Planet, but now I can't.

Things I noticed from the log last night but forgot to post about:

1) 16-bit colours. NO! Switch to 32-bit.

2) You have the bp2-adv-visuals in your bp2 folder even though you don't have MV_Advanced in \mediavps_3612\ . Try removing it.

Neither of those helped, but thanks anyway.
