Trailer looks pretty nice. Day 1 Studios (of Mech Assault 1+2) has revealed their latest project (news to me, btw). Couple of other salient points: Free to play, and there appears to be fairly extensive customization options hinted at.
That's all, for now.

The effects in the trailer looked fairly cartoony and the mech action seemed a bit too fast-paced for my liking. I'll probably be sticking with MWO.

Mechassault was pretty ****ty unforunately and it looks like this company hasn't really grasped what most mech fans are looking for in a mech game. (That is, not call of duty in a mechwarriorish flavor). The trailer showed a huge cluster**** of explosions, mechs running around in chaos and lasers going left and right. Couldnt tell what the hell was going on.

Pokemon Mechs? No thanks.
That video shows they got the "feel" completely wrong... these bouncy things with their cartoony exterior are supposed to be mighty 20-100ton Warmachines? Really?

if you put the data cores in the atlas it makes the atlas unstoppable just like if you put wikipedia in your head you turn into the hulk
battletech mech assault 2 lone wolf

errr is it bad that i actually had a lot of fun playing mech assualt 2 in all aspects? Admitably, I hadn't played as many games then as now, but I still think it was decent and not worth completely dismissing.
This looks interesting. the effects do look a bit cheesy, but maybe that will change or maybe it wont. will keep an eye on. and big customization is always a plus. mech warrior 2 mercs was one of the first games i ever played on my dad's pc. hated that you lost the customization as the series went on.

I liked MA2, no matter what denomination it was meant to serve. Didn't really care for the story, but I still think the music is cool (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0NhcLxeDFc).
This game looks... ok with the graphics/presentation etc. but aiming looks way too painful to make it enjoyable. I prefer strategy over strafe fighting. :nervous:
Edit: oops, wrong game. Yeah, why did they go the colorful and quick route with battletech?

I had more trouble following what's going on in this game than I do following what's going on in Armored Core.

Thats the feel I got from the trailer but more fast paced. Will pass unless it changes.
