Ok, dudes, here's another model, an Enclave bomber... it is meant to be one of those REALLY HEAVY!!!

Inpuy please... :)

Tailfin needed. :)
-
Looks good, but I think the bottom needs a bit more detail.
-
theres been so many way-to-heavy bombers lately.... but a more manuverable one that can survive more then 10 seconds of beam fire (aka dodging, pathetic 2-man craft armor wont stand up against a few shots from an AAAf or SAAA, no matter how thick it is, if you want to survive in a bomber, you gotta evade).
-
It reminds me, I'm allmost finished with the Armageddon (needs only to have debris added and a path for docking). You should see it in action: 6 turrets, has the manuverability of a cruiser, incredible shields and armour and allmost no a-f weapon compability, allmost twice as large as the Ursa.
I tested it and it works fine (except when you call for a support ship, but it doesn't matter - with full banks you can easily blast 3 Shivan destroyers to kingdom come!!!!!!)
p.s. - does anyone here know how to make paths?
p.p.s. - I have a medium bomer - Thunderbolt, he's slow, but waaaaaaaaay more manuverable than any other bomber!
-
1 - What's a tailfin (sorry, but my english vocabulary...)
2 - This bomber won't attack caps armed with beams (campaign issue...)... Also, it will always be escorted by interceptors to draw the fire from the bombers...
I'll try to smoothen it a bit... but the design is cool???
-
I think it looks pretty cool. It does need to be rounded a bit though like you say.
-
Tailfin = thing that sticks up at the back of a plane.
It'll improve the rear of the ship no end! :)
Plus I'm a sucker for tailfins on starfighters! :D:D
-
Not bad but more detail add you will.
-
I'd recommend adding more detail, yeah, but also a turret or two. Also, if it's supposed to be uber-big, the cockpit should be smaller in comparison. Otherwise, it looks good. :)
-
Depends if it's a single seater or not! :D:D
-
It will have 5 turrets... it has 2 pilots up on the cockpit... I may get it smaller... let's see how it looks

Something i just realized : Space Fighters have no need for tailfins! Don't get me wrong, i love them, but why the hell would you need them?

I think some FS2 fighters might also be used in atmospheres too. I`ve seen plenty of renders of that sort of thing :)
-
Yeah, I could see the Valky, Horus, or Perseus operating in an atmosphere. Or the Serapis.
LOL my mind just produced an image of an Ursa in an atmosphere. Whump!

Because my fighters are also designed for atmospheric flight, and you need a tailfin for stability. :p:D:D
-
imagine one of those shivan bombers inside an atmosphere...there like 75 meters long
-
I`ve always imagined that freespace fighters work on gravimetric principles so the ursa could fly in an atmosphere (any fighter or bomber could) but some of them would look very strange doing it :D
-
Surely they could just shape their shields to mimic wings, and fly on them?
-
But you'll still need a fin to keep stable! :)
-
You could put someone's window through with that thing.

Yes, they probably could, but its not too hard to shoot down something the size of a very large house moving at 45 m/s, and it would take ages for the bombers to get from space to the surface. I assume the GTVA have seperate craft for atmsopheric assult.

Sometimes you need both - just ask Wedge Antilles and Face Loran! :D:D

It's like 500 years into the future:) and the minbari nail fighter is also capable of atmospheric flight and it has no tailfins at all;)
