Now if I had enough money to do that.....
-
Its illegal to do that in the UK, actually.
Heil Blair. .....you wet lettuce

Cool. :)
-
my own ISP - :wtf:
Theres nothing wrong with freeserve.... except it pauses for a few minutes every so often, does anyone else get that, or is it just for ISDN?
Wish i had broadband, the UK is still in the relative caveman era of highspeed internet acsess, you would have to sell your house to afford anything faster than ISDN128.

Freeserve is fine for me.
-
Go Eastlink...
Its cheap, fast, reliable (I've only had it go down on my once in 7 months) and they fix things fairly quick (compared to other companies anyway)
Too bad it isnt available outside Nova Scotia.. :D
-
Hehe..best thing I can get for next year is NTL cablemodem.
which goes all the way to Luton and then pipes straight back to Hatfield where my uni is the major bandwidth supplier.
Stoopid, innit?
-
Er...I don't get this article. Essentially, you are your own ISP if you have a LAN. That's basically what the Internet is; various computers all hooked up to each other in a really big LAN. If you wanted to, you could make your own internet with a few computers running Apache and one running DNS.

I second that. Hurrah for Tony, our glorious Führer.
And Thorn: stop teasing me with your "broadband solutions", you bastard. I live in an area that is protected so they can't dig up the road and lay fiber-optic cable (or any kind of cable) in addition to the fact that they won't upgrade the local telephone exchange to DSL because, due to the fact DSL loses quality with distance, and it serves a couple of villages, not enough people would benefit from full-speed.
The most irritating thing is that the telephone exchange is at the end of my street. :o
-
Ian and Duncan Smith wouldnt even let us have broadband.

Well to be fair to the man they have finally started trying to get BT to get up and do something for once. But it's been long in coming - and this one point doesn't mean I like him :)

Hurrah for Ian and Duncan Smith, you Have I Got News For You watcher. :) Since the conjoined Conservative leaders have as much charisma as my toenails, I don't think we have to worry about what they will and will not let us do. ;)
In addition, the government hasn't forced BT to make broadband available to everyone. Basically, they've just told them to stop making 400% profits, and make 300% instead. Which means that they'll only install it in profitable areas.
-
I dont think the Liberal Democrats would let us have 56kers. They'd steal our cars. Hopefully next year broadband will be cheaper.
-
But the Lib Dems look so nice and so kind. Are you saying it's a facade and that if they come to power ( :ha: ) they'll start being all :snipe: ?
I'd like to see it. It's hard to imagine Charles Kennedy as a dictator. :D
-
You ***** about the current crappy government but will you support my facist regime when voting time rolls round? No. No good whining.........*mumbles obscenities*
*runs*
-
Your fascist regime will topple when my Socialist revolution begins! And then I'll...I'll...give you equality? No wait, that's not right.
Ah, screw that, let's just have a friendly political street brawl. :D
-
*goes to round up some SA..err...."supporters"*
-
*goes to round up some T-72 tanks*
:ha: :ha: :ha:
Tremble before my might, weakling fascist dictator!
-
Well, you'll all tremble in fear when my contacts in the Anarchist Federation start the revolution!
The Anarchist Federation - The Ultimate Contrdiction In Terms!
BTW - Have I got news for you is on tonight, I trust many of you will be watching it, yes?
BTWBTW - Calling all Brits, let us rise up against the tyranny of the American way of ruining our language! Color, ha. Odor, Ha. Center, ha! You're all fools!
-
I've got my armies of robots and mad physicists with communist principles... ;7

Better than adding in a pointless "u" for no reason... :p :D
Actually, the best language would be one solely based on mathematical commands, with the most fundamental ideas denoted to certain numbers and everything being created from combinations of those. ;)
-
Of if everyone spoke, wrote and read HTML, or C++, or JAVA!
-
Mathematica would be even better, as it has thousands of really neat functions built into it... ;)
-
I think I speak for everyone when I say:
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" :D
Oh, and Petrarch - surely the biggest contradiction is the 'belief in nihilism'. Nihilism is the belief in the destruction of everything; the belief in nothing. However, surely believing in nothing is something in itself... ;)
-
Guys, lets get back on topic. Last thing we need is Thunder going on a closing spree. ;)

That is one of the problems I see in the system. A logic contradiction. :p :D
-
I'm starting to see Democrats and Republics as two extremes. Under one government, you'll be selling nuclear submarines to China but not getting in any wars AND not polluting the environment and supporting education, but in the other you'll be in a war.
-
CP, about the putting "pointless" Us into words, it's very useful, it allows us to get higher scores in Scrabble. And, anyway, I'm not actually a member of the AF, cos as I said its a contradiction, but a few of my mates are in it.

But it's so tempting - luckily it got sensible right after your post. It lives.
-
bah, some news. A couple of guys did that in a village almost a year ago.
