Is it just me, or does the Erinyes only have 6 guns as apposed to the 8 advertised in it ship selection specs.
One of the banks clearly fires 4, but i think the second only fires 2, i cant see four and it doesnt seem to do double normal damage.
And if it doesnt, then it kind of reduces the greatness of Erinyes, since it has rubbish weapons energy stores too.

i dunno man there usded to be a bug believe it or not
that a myridon light space superity fighter
have the ability to carry helios and cylcops warheads
and not only that but you carry 4 or five othem
awesome?
anyone lese besides me remember that bug?
what you think of it?

just go fix it yourself... adding gunpoints isn't very difficult with modelview32
-
:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: There are 8 gunbanks, check Modelview if you don't believe me.
And the Myrm. can loads bombs? I GOT TRY THIS!!!! *runs to play FS2*
-
Yes, the Myrm can hold up to 4 helios bombs, 2 in the last bank and 1 in the top two. No, it cannot carry cyclops bombs. My guess is someone clicked on "Helios" instead of "Harpoon" when designing the fighter because its pretty odd that a space superiority fighter cant carry one of, if not the, best anti-fighter missiles.

Definite bug.
As for 8 guns, it has 8 for sure. The sheer power of those guns compared to other ships should prove that.
-
The bottom four guns are tightly packed so that it looks only like two guns shooting when you starting firing. Don't worry though, it's four.

I thought that might be it...
Anyway, the Myrmadon can carry Helios, and what a ship it is when it does. You can even take on corvetes. If i have helios available, i'd rather take a pair of them than a few rockeyes with me. If any cruisers show up they die. Plus you dont many antifighter missles, since you have that lovely double bank to put a ship munching Kayser (or Prom. S for longer range).
I love my Myrm

I love the fact that the Myrmidon can take a couple of Helios bombs. It basically turns it into a fighter dive-bomber. :D
It's actually an interesting tactical set-up - it can carry bombs, but not many - although, IMO, it should only be allowed to carry 1 or 2. That way it doesn't become so powerful that it replaces bombers, but can be used where they'd just die.

nah, it's not a mistake, it's mentionned in the CB ani.

Fighter-bombers rock :)
-
Myrmidons are best used when strike bombers are needed...they dont do so well against larger vessels or those with lots of flak, but a wing of Myrmidons can take down a corvette and most destroyers in one pass (assuming they dont die before they get there).
-
This is kind of like the Tauret actually, which has six gunpoints although its techroom entry and selection screen statistics say it only has four. :p

Where is this? I couldn't find anything like this and cannot remember seeing it either. (and I must have looked over those command briefings so many times when drilling out my campaign's story that I have most of them memorized :p :D)
What makes me think that the Myrmidon thing is probably a mistake is that if can carry the Helios, there is no reason why it cannot carry the Cyclops as well; there are no other ships in the game that can only carry the larger bomb and not the smaller one, and it doesn't make sense in any case. :p

Its probably the shape of the Helios that allows myrms to carry it, its quite thin at the back, unlike the Cyclops which is pretty much the same width all the way along it, which means it may not quite fit in the weapons pods.

The bomber and the torps (and the general look of the pics) look very Starlancer-ish.
-
The bomber kinda reminds me of the GTB Medusa.
Anyway, nice
