Just saw a report linked over on slashdot about the possibility of intact Spitfires buried in Burma (http://www.smh.com.au/world/burmese-treasure-weve-done-some-pretty-silly-things-but-the-silliest-was-burying-the-spitfires-20120415-1x1kn.html) back in 1945. Seeing as these were still in their crates, wrapped against the elements, there's a good chance they'd still be in good condition if they can be dug up. It'll be nice to have a few extra working Spitfires around nowadays.
I love it war relics are found in good condition, and this sure as hell beats dragging degraded tanks out of Russian bogs. Plus, I couldn't resist the excuse for making an incredibly bizarre, yet wholly accurate, thread title.

I was hoping they had found one of them, the problem here is the RAF destroyed the records of where they were buried though they have some suspected locations, fingers crossed a few are ok

This (if they are found) is cool.
