the video makes it look a bit faster than what it actually is. I strongly suggest you try it out.

So this is what the part of Nexuiz that wanted to keep its soul turned into...
-
seems very unreal&quake like
-
Arena type games are good in small doses. Keeps your reflexes sharp.
-
Meh, Q3 Arena clone. Looks boring.
-
^ This.
Never managed to enjoy fast FPSes, not going to begin now.

Fsking kids. Get off my lawn and let me enjoy my old school shooter.

Hey grandpa, the 90s called, they want you back.
-
I, for one, would be glad to revisit them. Some of the best games I played were made during that era. Take Marathon, Wing Commander, Freelancer, Starlancer... the list goes on. These days, games (especially FPSes) are made for goldfish. No plot and fast, shallow gameplay. Just run the game and jump into action. Sometimes they don't have an SP component at all, just multi.

QUAKE ONE, BLOOD, AND DUKE NUKEM 3D!
-
Don't forget Doom and SW: Dark Forces. And old RPGs, like TES: Arena.
-
Old games actually typically had far less plot and less gameplay than modern games. If you want fps examples, just take Doom, Blood, Duke Nukem and compare to today's Crysis, Prey, FEAR and Max Payne.

Crysis, Prey, FEAR and Max Payne.
:nono:

That just goes to show that you need to have a good plot, or no plot at all! :hopping:

^ This. I'd rather have games with no plots than games with placeholder plots. Do it right or don't do it.
-
I'd rather play Crysis or FEAR instead of Doom even if they don't have novel quality story.
-
Doom was the only game apart fron silent hill 2 that actually made me feel uneasy...
-
Heh. I play Descent on a regular basis. I used to play Marathon on a regular basis as well.
-
Crysis was awesome. I loved everything about it (excpet the predictable "nuke faliure" and "hot chick scientist is always right").
Crysis 2 never happened. NEVER.

Xonotic is quite fun in chunks, though.

This is what was running through my mind while watching it
