Title: New Hyperspace and Jumpoint FX

Anyone had note that the "newhyperspace.pof" skybox (wich is alredy on the TBP's core) now is working good?
Is a significal upgrade to the old one.
Maybe we can upgrade the missions. I mean, it just reapleace the skybox. Or we create a mod changing the name of the model.
Test it for yourself.
(i'm using the new 3.6.14 Release)

How would we do that? Just replace any occurence of hyperspace.pof with newhyperspace.pof in the scripts?

Yes. we have to create a mod, and change the file name of the model "newhyperspace.pof" to "hyperspace.pof" to replace it. That's it.
I made it, the new FX looks beautiful. Just miss the white flashes fx, maybe we can then somehow.

I replaced the hyperspace background nebula in a standalone mission of Shaun Williams by newhyperspace and the result doesn't look any better, in fact it is just red on blue compared to the original red on black. So what other things are needed for this to work? I used Zathras 2.0 with fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF...

P.S.: The next Zathras needs to display the version number in the launcher!

It's not a nebula that you have to replace, it's the skybox. Ok, i will make a mod with a *.vp with this and upload on the main post ASAP.

The new Hyperspace and new Jumpoint will be realease as a mod with the normal maps updates , new ships and weapon's fx upgrades.

You mean in the next Zathras update, right? We don't need more mods to fragment The Babylon Project! It's bad enough that the base release itself can't be improved on anymore because of the fights during it's development...

You right. But the Zathras content not depends of me. we hope that all the people enjoys the updates we are preparing.
