Title: Several problems/questions
Post by: Legate Damar on June 01, 2012, 12:31:19 pm
Okay first a simple one. I have added some new player pictures for the barracks in my mod and they work, but as my mod uses mediavps_3612 as a secondarylist, it cycles through the default player pics as well as my new ones. Is there a way to make it only show my new pics? (Not a big deal if there isn't).

Similarly, if I have an image I want to use for the default squadron logo, where do I put that so it will show up in the barracks when my mod is selected?

Now for a real problem. No matter which pilot I select, and no matter which mod I am running from the launcher, it always shows a certain campaign in the campaign room (an old one of mine I had worked on a while ago). I want it to not appear in the campaign room...

You probably put that campaign in /data/missions, move it.

Just found it there - I had checked there before but I didn't find it, I have a lot of junk in that folder.

What about my other two questions?

As I understand how squad logos get loaded, there is no easy way to remove them if they are located in another "mod" like retail or the MediaVPs and you require that mod.

Basically, I'm pretty sure FSO loads whatever valid images in data/players/squads as possible squad logos.

The ways to generally remove anything from FSO are to table it out (not an option here) or to replace it with your own. So with that in mind, you could try to replace the logos with your own file that is purposefully an invalid file that FSO can't load... but that's a pretty obvious hack. I would do it by creating an empty .txt file and replacing the file extension to .dds or .pcx (depending on what you are replacing) and see what happens. Worst thing that it does is cause FSO to crash.

If there is another way for squad logos, then I'm unaware of it.

I guess it's okay if it cycles through the defaults as well.

/data/

that folder

I have a lot of junk in /data/

This is bad. Don't do it.

Okay maybe it's all right for missions only, but any kind of mod should get its own folder.

Ironically I just told someone in another thread to put something in data. Time to kill myself

NOOOO ! You MUST finsh THIS (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=80688.0) before.

Oh, and debug Delenda Est  :P

But after... (bad joke inside, I pretty enjoy (almost) everything you say). In fact, my very tiny feminine part fell in love with you the day you wrote this gem (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70050.msg1384027#msg1384027)

EDIT : Last link fixed for great justice

It's the one about bombers launching bombs "with gay abandon" as Andro put it.

It was only missions mostly except that campaign file
