Title: Tank Miniature Help
Post by: Sarafan on June 21, 2012, 08:14:32 pm
I've been looking to buy a tank miniature for a while, problem is I've never bought a mini before and I'm no good with mounting all those little pieces so I'm trying to get a miniature that already comes assembled (if there even are such). My google fu is weak (I only found places selling kits that you have to assemble) so does anyone here knows of a site that sell such miniatures?

Do you mean a scale model or a wargaming miniature?

What scale?

What era?

Just look for those die-cast ones.  I've got a Tiger-II and a Churchill.

I think 1/35 is a good size, as for the era it would be modern era.

I bought mine at Wal-Mart, but I haven't seen any for sale at one for a couple of years.

You wouldn't just be speaking of toy tanks, would you?

Corgi makes some nice models, though not the best I've ever seen. A few of the cheap ones from back in the day (when they made some really great children's toys) were nearly all die-cast, and even had moving rubber tracks. Granted, those were crappy treads and tended to come off, but oh well... How I miss Zylmex... :)

However, I'm guessing that's not quite your angle. If you're looking for shelfware, which many toys are anyway, you might try this:

Not toys, shelfware would be it, I'm looking for modern era tanks and such.

Either 1/35 or 1/72 (that seems to be the most common right?). Those are pretty much what I want, thanks!
