Title: [OT] Anybody know where I can get Lightwave?

Ok, firstly, before Thunder jumps on me, I'm not talkin' about ILLEGALLY.  I'm talking about actually purchasing for a reasonable amount of money.  Like, an older version or something, as I can't spend the full $1595 on 7.0 without dipping into my college fund.

Best, get 3DS MAX instead. You're not looking for ubereffects in your renders, you don't need LightWave (and you certainly don't need to pay for it). If you are, you want the latest version, and anything less will, at best, be only a tad better than some of the 3D Studio 3rd-party plugins, which are fantastic.

Try www.google.com - I don't know if it'll work but there may be places (auctions or something) selling old editions online.

Or failing that go to www.softimage.com and get a much better package :)
