There's a neat little test good enough for boredom relief and an interesting read at the end

I ended up with the following

Ahhh, this. I've been a pretty solid ENTJ for quite a while now. Strongly expressed Extrovert, moderately expressed Intuition and mild inclinations towards T and J from memory.
-
INTP
You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (89%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (50%)
You have marginal or no preference of Thinking over Feeling (1%)
You have slight preference of Perceiving over Judging (22%)
No comment comes to my mind.

I find that stest flawed due to the presence of absolutes. With several of the questions, I found that my own answer was not a straight forward yes or no.
-
Yeah, the whole Myer-Briggs concept is pretty flawed. None of the things it tries to measure are bimodally distributed, and so it effectively just slices down the centre of each distribution and then attaches qualities from the extreme end of the spectrum that you happen to be closer to.
The disclaimer being that it's only meant to be a guide to one's preferences, which I guess is legitimate (from my non-psych background POV), but probably not a good indicator of much else. That said, I've amused myself in the past by trying to peg people's MB types, and being fairly accurate in doing so sometimes.

ISTP
You have distinctive preference of Introversion over Extraversion (67%)
You have slight preference of Sensing over Intuition (12%)
You have marginal or no preference of Thinking over Feeling (1%)
You have distinctive preference of Perceiving over Judging (67%)
-
You have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (44%)
You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (38%)
You have marginal or no preference of Thinking over Feeling (1%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (33%)
I would say the "Thinking over feeling" is somewhat innacurate because Most of the time I have a well constructed plan of what I'm doing in mind, but I also frequently react to strong emotions.
Basically, things don't always work out the way I planned because I'm very impulsive.

I've tested as an INTJ for many years now. I first took those tests about 8 years ago. Function preference tests seem to be a better guide, since they give you match percentages to each of the 16 pre-defined personality types. They'd frequently put me as (#1) INTJ, (#2) INTP, or (#3) ISTJ)--all matches within a couple percentage points of each other.

INTJ
You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (100%)
You have distinctive preference of Intuition over Sensing (75%)
You have distinctive preference of Thinking over Feeling (62%)
You have moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving (44%)
Only thing that I could say with some certainty is that I defeintely agreed with the extreme end choices of the "no do not like crowds" thing.

Consistent if nothing else. This is the first test I've seen that tells you how strong the preferences for each attribute are; I've always been right on the line for Extravert/Intovert.
For extra fun, we can see which "Archetypes" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meyers-Briggs#Keirsey_temperaments) we supposedly correlate with. According to the (admittedly flawed) Meyers-Briggs and the Kiersey Tempraments (mentioned in the link), I'd be a Mastermind-Fieldmarshall hybrid.
I don't disagree with the assessment, but at times these evaluations feel like astrology- a reader could find something of themselves in probably any descriptions.

Or as my Intro to Psychology professor put it, those sorts of tests have good face value -- people read the results and often (but not always) think that the results sound accurate -- but poor predictive value, meaning that you can't predict anything about, say, people who strongly prefer Thinking over Feeling. Predictive value is generally what psychologists (and scientists in general) are interested in.
FWIW, I think I was an INTJ when I took the test, but it's been years, so I don't remember for sure.

I'm kinda surprised (but not really) about my feeling over thinking and judging over perceiving. These two changed considerably since I last took this same test, but that may either be because I'm more honest with myself now or because I actually have changed. I know I'm more extrovert than I ever was when I was young.

I am definitely introverted, intuitive, and judgemental. However, i really don't consider myself someone who has a preference over feeling to thinking. My friends and family know me as someone who thinks too much being cold and insensitive person.
Of which i think.
A lot of these questions in the test could have been answered better. Why is the test composed of yes or no absolutes when it's for testing something as variable as a personality? The question answer choices offering more variability would have helped definitely. Because of the yes or no absoluteness of the answers, the test sort of shoots itself in the foot; it sucks answering limited option multiple choice questions like this as best as you can, when in reality you can't answer them as best as you can.

Kinda fits, my intelligence tends to overcome both my judgemental and 'raw feeling' 'shortcomings' but it's pretty close to my default position, and the archetype thing says I should be a teacher - which is what everyone seems to think I should be...
