Hey its the Hazard the noob here with a FS music video I made. I wasn't able to find that many FS music videos, so I thought ''What the hell I'm going to make my own.'' This is my first time using Final cut express, I learned alot. There are a few 'meh' places in the video, so feel free to like or hate...

Whats wrong with dubstep? Did you even watch the video?
-
This will not end well.
Also, this belongs in GenFS really.
-
At least pick a half way decent dubstep tune, there ...must be one or two?
-
Dubstep, on MY Freespace?! KILL IT, KILL IT WITH FIRE! Where's a Juggernaut fleet when you need one?
Nice vid, horrible music (IMO)

Music doesn't fit at all. Also, there are sooo many compilations like this.. I'd love to see something new instead of the same scenes in the thousandth video.

I thought the music added a new twist to freespace. (IMO) If I had it my way, I would be using none of the stock Fs cutscenes, but as of now I can not animate or make a cutscene of any kind. I thought about making a ship called "camera ship" then fred a few epic missions, and filming it using the camera ship.

Honestly, you should've had your way
I'm not particularly impressed by the reuse of what's already been created or the song choice to go with it
Good effort, but falls short.

I didn't think it was that bad, but didn't really have anything special going for it either.
It's a mix of different videos, with a new audio edit on top, and as such it isn't all that bad. Make something original next! :)

it's the IRL equivalent of an internet meme. every single person i know that listens to it (and a few that fancy themselves producers/artists of it) are MASSIVE douchebags/bros.
to me, it sounds like taking an original song from someone else and overdubbing it with someone undergoing an epileptic seizure playing a bass drum. or more accurately, pressing a button on a synth.
-
Listening to it, I still can't tell what's dubstep, but I'm with Herra here. I thought the use of that one wingman voice to be pretty nifty, however.

QFT. And for the record, I wasn't aware of the dubstep meme (yeah I'm a bit reclusive) and I like dubstep. Not a whole lot, but it has its place. Forget the meme, enjoy good music. There is good music, okay music, and bad music, of innumerable variations. Why are you worried about memes??
"omg, like, that's sooooo uncool, imma like, totally diss anyone who listens to this genre, because, well, most of the people who listen to it are just listening to it cause everyone else is, and that's just not happening"
SERIOUSLY????
If you like the tune, jam on, and who cares what anyone else is doing / thinking? I don't get this, unless it's a song that's overplayed on the radio, that I get, but I don't think they play dubstep on the radio...
Anyways. To all the dubstep haters. Sorry for dubstep rocking! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz8zT5U6sss) (that hate dubstep just because it's a meme. If you seriously just don't like it, that's cool ;) )

Discussion abouty Dubstep belongs in Gen Disc :doubt:
-
It was there, originally :nervous:
-
Yes. Go to GenDisc. Talk about dubstep there. Talk about the video here.

I enjoyed your video, thanks for your effort :)
But I think the pacing of your cut could be a little bit faster here and there to better match the thrilling music. Also take a look at your aspect ratio. You squashed some of the 16:9 video into a 16:9 video. Better crop that stuff :p
EDIT: And maybe choose a better compressor. The video is blurred and the colors are washed out. Not necessary in 2012 ;)
EDIT²: Confusing syntax is confusing.

I doubt he really knows yet what he is doing with video compressors.. also, why the video not available on mobile?

I'm sure he means the shots of my FS1 Endgame remake. It's stretched from it's original 16:9 aspect ratio to what looks like 2:39:1 to me. Or in other words, waaaaaaaaaaaaay stretched.
As to the video... It's "meh" as far as music videos go, especially since you used dubstep without using dubstep. What I mean is that dubstep has a strong beat and rhythm and you made use of that visually once, maybe twice. I would have liked to see more on beat cuts, more explosions on downbeats, and generally faster cutting to match the tempo of the audio. You did none of that, or you did it extremely rarely. Your final product is long segments of cutscenes we've all seen for years cut together lazily with dubstep in the background. A resounding "meh".
-
Not terrible, keep at it and you'll only get better at editing! :) A spunkier dubstep song (more like the original Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites) with the suggestions mjn.mix gave would help excite things.
[edit]If you like, feel free to check out this Kingdom Hearts AMV I made years ago for some ideas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnAL_yI26pc [/edit]

I was going to say that dubstep and reggae doesnt mix, but then I remember that I was playing reggae
Aside from that, dubstep doesn't really match freespace but the video put it together well
