Title: Crash to Desktop
Post by: thewizord on September 06, 2012, 03:28:36 am
Well, got a consistent crash guys :(. After rescuing the civilian fleet and jumping into the three base star battle, the game locks and crashes with the code:

Code: [Select]
Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
  Application Name: fs2_open_Diaspora_R1.exe
  Application Version: 3.6.13.0
  Application Timestamp: 5033654b
  Fault Module Name: fs2_open_Diaspora_R1.exe
  Fault Module Version: 3.6.13.0
  Fault Module Timestamp: 5033654b
  Exception Code: c0000005
  Exception Offset: 001eb2a0
  OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
  Locale ID: 1033
  Additional Information 1: 0a9e
  Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
  Additional Information 3: 0a9e
  Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

The crash is consistent, every time after the 3rd base star spawns the game will crash regardless of my position. The game freezes until it crashes out to the report screen, and that is it.

In the launcher's Advanced Settings -> Troubleshooting, tick Use old collision detection system, and try it again.

I have this issue, too. Using the old collision system isn't working for me, either. I'm so excited to get on playing this game!

I'm having the same problem, I've tried disabling 3d radar (suggested elsewhere) and enabled use old collisions.

System Specs:

Windows 7 Pro SP1 64bit
Core i7 960 3.20Ghz
Corsair XMS3 8GB RAM
Sapphire ATI Radeon 5770 (Catalyst 11.11)

I also can't load the game on the debug build, it crashes after the second resolution error I get after pilot selection. Log file attached.

Then it's the issue we'll hopefully patch tomorrow most likely.
