Greetings!
first: i am not a native speaker, so sorry for missing grammar or funny words.
second: great game, great atmosphere, many thanks!
third: my problem is killing the great atmosphere. :/ Every Video lags enormously as soon as the font-only-scenes disappear. i tried the "disable scale-to-window for movies" option, didnt work. all the other options do not seem to fit, or did i missed one? "disable video playback" is not an option to me cause i LOVE them to much :)
ingame graphic runs smooth on highest settings. drivers are updated today.
my system: AMD - processor, 4*1,61GHz / 8GB Ram / Win 7 Prof 64bit / GeForce GTX 560
-
Yeah, I have the same issue, also AMD processor.
-
Do the cutscenes also stutter if you run them through the tech library?
-
Yes. I assumed it was due to my computer struggling with having the mission in the background and playing the cutscene, but I still get stuttering even through the tech room. Odd.
-
yes, same problem here. its even the same stutter-rate (compared library and watched as a mission-intro). e.g. there are 2 smooth seconds when the 2 basestars become visible in the "flight"-intro.
fascinating! (oops, wrong franchise ;))
-
What happens if without the game running you just go to Diaspora/Data/Movies and just try to run the file (pick SP_R1_Intro.ogg since you'll definitely have seen that one).
-
in vlc-player smooth and enjoyable.
-
VLC uses its own built-in codecs to playback video files, though, instead of the system codecs, so could this be an issue with outdated ogg codecs? Perhaps try installing the latest K-Lite Codec Pack (http://free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm)? (Be sure to deselect any option for installing toolbars etc unless you really want them.)
-
That's not the issue. Ogg decoding is built in. It doesn't use codecs.
-
Then, would it be possibly fixed by updated graphics drivers? Cause if not, it seems to me the only other place the problem could be is code-side with you wizards over there. How about this: haejn2 and Dain, can you post log files? The instructions should be in my signature. IIRC that will show us what version of graphics drivers you are using, and other potentially useful information.
-
sorry for asking, but:
did you talk about this (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html), this (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) or that (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.msg1180359#msg1180359)?
-
"posting a debug log", first line, last link in that line.
