Hmph.
-
Increased functionality suggesting that it was functional in the first place?
-
I wonder did they fire the monkey on space crack and redesign the interface.. prolly not... too bad you have to have TS to make POFs...
-
FEH. Truespace6 has some nifty features that I want in lightwave(shelling for example, and filleting).
I still don't know why everyone whinges about Truespace. Ormandy and company have done an incredible job at producing a very function product on the (relatively) cheap.
-
same here. truespace is good and easy to learn. some people just can't handle learning curves, i guess.

You're not, Venom. If you learned on a 3ds interface or a Lightwave interface, the TS interface is going to suck swampwater. I had the opposite problem: I started with TS3 and LW and 3ds kicked my ass. It has nothing to do with 'incompetence', it has to do with modes of thought.
I can't go back to TS now, without some serious work, because I'm used to Lightwave now. One of these days, I'll dig out the dongle and learn 3ds just so I can use some of its tools. :)
-
thx :)
the fact is, if I learn max now, it's only because it's the only one you can learn in france thanx to formation centers. not such a thing for lightwave, Maya or anything else. I just go with the most used around.
Btw, Max5 is to be shown soon in an upcoming convention (don't remember which one), and it seems the UI will be completly revamped, with lots of roll out menus and stuff like that, so even when I stick with Max, it seems i'll have to adapt to a new UI :p

Only on NURBS.
Trying to displace polygon models properly is a nightmare!

nope, just need a lot of poly, but it's kindda logical.
-
Just when I got the hang of TS5, they go and make another...
Bah, I'll only upgrade if they make it so that you can have texture maps glow, without those stupid lights and lensflares... (self illumination...?)
-
it's called object lighting, and TS6 does have it.
-
I'll stay whit LW. It works best for me;)
