I've just started playing Diaspora, It's looking great, but..
In the familiarization tests, the subsystem cycle command (by pressing 'V') isn't working.
'Z' to target subsystems, 'V' to cycle through.. and it simply brings up the same system until I am mashing buttons to make it do ANYTHING else.
What's really going on?
-
You've got the wrong button. V targets subsystem under your reticle, K cycles turrets, S cycles subsystems

These controls must have been changed after the patch. You should go to the Options screen (F2) and at the bottom is a button for Control Config. Go in there and check under targeting for what the new buttons are.

Post 1.02 default keybinds were changed since the #2 issue with the game people had (other than the crashes or using intel video cards okay so #3 issue) were laptop keyboards and freaking out over having to rebind keys.
-
So, would you advise rebinding the keys?
I already managed to customize it for better usage, then went back and started the section again, and still had to monkey mash my way through the subsystem targeting section. Once I got past that though, I found the rest of the game extremely cool.
My one kvetch.. So many bindeable keys and actions for so very short of a campaign? somewhat of a let down.
Anyway, back to it to improve my scores and timing.

The bindable keys have been there since FS2 retail, back in '99. Diaspora didn't invent them, they just make excellent use of them ;)
More campaign will come ! Wait for R2 ! Or make new missions yourself...
