Vassago's Dirge and BP explore a similar area: the ESP Nagari phenomenon. It isn't called that (IIRC) in VD, and much more incoherent compared to BP, but the effect is very very similar.
So my question is: is VD part of BP canon? The Cretheus tech decription implies that it is, but it isn't necessarily the case.
Discuss.
And anyone who hasn't played VD should. It's amazing.

Both also feature the GTD Carthage. :P
I don't think it's explicitly canon, but since there's nothing contradictory, and there are shoutouts to its continuity, you may choose to believe it to be BP-canon or not. Personally, I think it'd be cool if they shared a continuity because both are awesome.

Very much in the same way STR has many shoutouts in BP, you can consider STR and VD canon by BP standards in any way that doesn't contradict with explicit BP canon.
You might want to note some references to Derelict as well. Will you find them ? :p

Aside from a whole bunch of Morgan Technologies references?

I think those are the ones, yeah.

There are at least two more!

212th Silver Scythes, baby!
In duct tape we trust.

VD and BP2 are both excellent, atmospheric, artistic campaigns. They're both within the same universe in my mind.

The Vassago itself is one of the destroyers in Preserving the Balance.

That's some parallel universe Vassago in a world where the Shivans haven't faced a military challenge from humans in 50 years. And it could just be an artifact of randomly assigning demon names!

This. Heck I even considered naming one of my Ravana Vassago before VsD came out. There is also the Vassago-class destroyer from Ancient-Shivan War.

Aaaaand VD was released long after AoA's first release. So, if anything, it would be the other way around.

Yeah, I joined BP right after I finished working on Vassago and just before War in Heaven was released. And the Nagari stuff from Age of Aquarius wasn't quite like the stuff from Vassago or WiH, so its just a very nice coincidence that the two meshed well together. BP likes to include shout-outs to other campaigns, so having the events in Vassago happen within BP's timeline is very possible, but Vassago isn't meant to have any real connection to BP.
(It was also nice that the Carthage was in both campaigns!)
