Title: First Mission Crash After Briefing
Post by: Mbumbum on October 08, 2012, 04:59:51 pm
Hi!
I have to admit, that i'm a little old fashioned, but i have Windows XP and my Diaspora crashes before first mission in briefing.
Sometimes even sooner..
Please help!
FS2 was running without any problems, and now this.

Because i am lame, and i do not have fs2 open.
I downloaded Diaspora only and i am on my way to fix this.
It will be done.

You don't need to download & install fs2_open to generate a debug log.   Just follow the fs2_open instructions for generating the log (see my sig for details) but use the Diaspora debug executable (it should be in the same folder as the normal Diaspora executable).

Ok.
Note that i am not too familiar with this kind of computer usage.
Don't be too rude to me if i frakked up, but i did the best i could acording to my limited brain capacity :)
Here is my fs2 open.log
I hope, that it will be helpfull.

Download the 1.0.3 patch and try it again. It's not stopping in the right place for us to detect the cause. We fixed the issue with where it did stop in 1.0.3.

Here it is.
in my other attachment is a screenshot taken in the base menu, so you can see what it does even there on the beginning.
I hope it will be helpful.
I was trying to take another one later to see where it freezes completely, but unfotunately i was too slow.
It's the first briefing window after the game intro.

Are you using the most recent graphics drivers for your card? The log reports you're still on OpenGL 2.0 which is ancient.

Thanx for advice!
It was actually working a while longer and i moved to the briefing just before the mission.
And then it crashed again.

You installed new drivers? Cause I'm still seeing OpenGL 2.0

If that's the best your card can handle, you're going to have to go to advanced settings -> troubleshoot and turn off GLSL (shaders)
