A test using primitives and some simple textures into making a watch. It's supposed to have a bit of an Art Noir feel to it.
Edit-The hands on the watch are post-production with a shadow added to look as if they're part of the model.
My overall goal of this is to learn how to shift from primitives to actually modeling this myself :p

If I were to try reproducing that, I would use a number of primitives, as well.
Nice!

I like it allot very nicly done;)

Looks great :) ( just make the chain smaller I think )
I'd go with a primitive too: I'd extrude/bevel a cylinder a few times to get the basic shape, then chamfer the edges to get the rounded edges. This way is very easy and efficient :)
For the hands, I'd make them in splines, extrude it 3 times, and collapse verts by couples to make a diamond shaped ...shape when you see it from the front. voila :)

I was thinking the same thing! :D

I'd use NURBS for a shape like that, start of with a sphere, squish it and edit the CV's, then trim out the face with a circle and add the watch face.
Of course MAX NURBS would be 'orrible...but anyway :)

Not as bad as truespace NURBS :)

many ways this could be dont from lathing a a spline curve to nurbs to priamtives anwya nicely done =)
