Title: Question about debriefing personas
Post by: Yarn on October 15, 2012, 06:11:29 pm
How does retail FS2 decide which debriefing persona to use? A look through retail FRED, the retail FS2 campaign file, and the wiki doesn't seem to reveal anything. I know about the "+Debriefing Persona Index:" flag, but that's for FSO only.

Retail FS1 and FS2 had it hard-coded.  The game knew which persona to apply for the Volition-provided campaigns, but for everything else it defaulted to Admiral Wolf (in FS1) or Admiral Petrarch (FS2).

Wait what does the persona for debriefing matter for anyway.
Don't you just specify the voice file?

Debriefing persona deals with things like medals and promotions, which you can't specify in the debrief editor.

The fun part is when you're playing a voiced campaign that doesn't define personas, or else had played one before that code was in place, and suddenly get random Petrarch before the actual debriefing. :p
