lol,

. I'd like to add a body kit, better alarm, MP3 stereo, replace the rear-view mirror with a camera and monitor, and the piece-de-resistance... an R2 unit droid dome on the rear trunk/deck (I know- the A-wing doesn't have an astromech, but my H-Wing does).

I mean, of course an A-wing doesn't have an astromech, who wouldn't know that?!

Uh, pretty much only the X-wing had astromechs, well R2's anyway.

Uh Stealth, why are you hosted? And why does the link in your sig go to a redirection site instead of the 3dap one?

Y-Wings do too, and the Jedi starfighters.

The Naboo Starfighter and the E-wing uses them too, though on the E-wing someone had a brainstorm and had the mech covered up inside the hull of the fighter so sith lords couldn't take pot-shots at them. :)

Wrong, in fact, A-wings are one of the few that don't have astromechs.

I'm hosted because I have a Freespace site and met all the regulations.  Why, is there something wrong as to why i'm hosted/

My sig goes to the redirection site not the 3dap one because the site's not finished yet, and i don't want to broadcast that i'm hosted by HLP until it's finished.  If that's a problem, then if one of the staffmembers tells me to change it, i will do it without hesitation.

Now I just need to paint my Dodge minivan battleship gray and mount hexagonal solar panels on the sides. :D

Seriously, I like the car. It's been done tastefully.

~-=™! Well your site doesn't seem to have any specific aim and most hosted sites do !™=-~

~-=™! Doesn't putting a link to the site in your sig kinda broadcast the fact? !™=-~

Hey anon,
most sites have a purpose, but if you read in the 'about' section of the page, which generally tells about the website, then near the bottom you'll see EXACTLY why, so perhaps if next time you read a little you'll find out.

Also, for your information, in numerous posts i HAVE said that it is under CONSTRUCTION, and so therefore perhaps the obvious purpose of the site is unapparent right now,
but when it is done, then the purpose will be obvious.

Just because you've got three avatars next to your name and I don't have one doesn't mean you're better than me.
So right now why don't you mind your own business and wait till the site's officially completed.

Oh, and by the way,
www.stealth.mirrorz.com
doesn't really broadcast that i'm being hosted by HLP, unless if someone clicks on it.  When my site is up and running, then it will be replaced by:
http://www.3dap.com/hlp/hosted/stealth/
and everyone will be happy ok?

   :doubt: :doubt: :doubt:

EDIT:
Hey an0n, aren't you going to fight this point you made:

~-=™! Ah! Most people tend to either leave the site blank until it's done or make the purpose blatantly obvious despite a lack of content. It's good that you've got the confidence to defy convention. Kudos to you. !™=-~

Well maybe I don't want to be most people!
The main reason I dont' put a blank page until it's done is because there's no point to... it'll be weeks till some of the pages are done, such as the 'tutorials' page... and in the meantime, people can get good use of pages that are up and running, such as the 'downloads' page.  So what's the point of putting it offline till completely done when people can use it even when it's partially done!?

No, I was just wondering... cause on one of the two points you made in that post (number 1 being that X-wings are the only ones that have astromechs, and number 2 being that i shouldn't be hosted) you already got told by like 5 people that you're wrong, so you pick up on the second one.

By the way, what's your reason for picking on me?
What did i ever do to you?

You're too lazy to type in 'an0n.fattonys.com' all the time, that's exactly what my point was, so I don't know where you came up with the 'concept of sub-domains'

Once again, that's exactly what I was talking about... the 'why are you hosted'

Quote

That's what you said... nothing about the 'original trilogy' at all...
but you're still wrong, because Y-wings, which were in the 'original trilogy' (i presume you're talking about episodes 4, 5, and 6) did have astromechs.  Pretty much the only ships they showed in the original trilogy were A, Y, and X wings... two of them had astromechs.

Oh, you also said 'well R2's anyway'...
they didn't have to have R2s, they could have a lot of astromech droids, the pilot could choose.  Obviously they couldn't have all but there were quite a few astromechs that the X-wing supported... so in both instances... you were wrong! :D

Listen, now I don't really care if you don't like me, and why you don't like me I don't know, because i'm new to the forums, and I don't even know anyone well, but I don't really care... sure ther'es going to be some people that don't like me, but just get over it, ok?  I got hosted thanks to Setekh and Cobaltstarr's good judgement and they thought I was worthy enough, so why don't you just bug off and get a life.  It's really none of your business to ask me

The simple concept of you being so lazy you can't type in 'an0n.fattonys.com'?  You have to have a link there so you can click it then you still have to type int eh subdirectories and all!  why not link it to 'an0n.fattonys.com/images/' or wherever you keep your images!  sure, it'll probably bring up an 'error' page when someone else visits it, but lazy an0n here will save himself 2 seconds of his life by not having to type a domain in...

If anyone has a copy of the 'star wars, complete book of droids' (or something to that effect) and can post some of the history for a direct reference of the R2 line...

The corporation who made the R2 astromech line of droids had multiple versions.  Their first R1 astromech was a flop.  But they learned on their mistake and made a more compact, and more versitle model, resulting in the R2.
The market was shocked at how useful the little droid was!
The company was soon in over its' head with orders for the thing, almost unable to fill them.

Emboldend on the success there they went on to create the R3 and R4, both flopped yet again.  The R5 however was another jump in the right direction.  (Luke had one in his E-wing in one of the books, but preferred his old R2 instead.)

And for a picture reference of the Y-wing.

See monkey-boy, this is the "deep, dark subdirectory" thing. If I type that then I've also got to type /images/stuff/hidden/..../..., thus it becomes very time consuming. The sub-domain was originally set-up so that I wouldn't have to do this. Then I realised just how truly lazy I am and was forced to put a link to it in my sig. Or in short: *smack*

OK, you're obviously very stupid, but i'll say it really slowly, and I'm sure then you'll be able to understand what i've been trying to say the last, uhhh, maybe 3 or 4 posts!!!:

Here we go:

That stupid shimmering thing on your signiture:
 ~=!@!=~
links to: an0n.fattonys.com

So, therefore, if you want to go to /images/stuff/hidden/.../... (i don't belive your subdirectories go that far, but if they do you're pretty stupid, or a poor organizer) you've still got to type in the 'deep, dark subdirectories'... so really, what's the big difference between:

1) With the '~=!@!=~ ' thing, all you have to type is:
--/images/stuff/hidden/.../.../

2) Without the '~=!@!=~ ' thing, you have to type a few letters more...:
-- an0n.fattonys.com/images/stuff/hidden/.../...

You're a very, very lazy person obviously, and you're also apparently stupid too!

how fast do you type, just curious... because if you're too 'lazy' to type 'an0n.fattonys.com', but you're not lazy enough to type '/images/stuff/hidden/.../...' then you've probably got a problem

There's people that can help you

... grasshopper

*weeps*

an0n.fattonys.com goes to the deep, dark, sub-directory (ie typing "an0n.fattonys.com" into that little bar near the top of the screen will take you to "www.fattonys.com/blah/blah/blah/blah/munky/blah". It's deep and dark because I don't want people nosing around in there.

And: "shimmering"
WTF? How does it 'shimmer'?

I type at around 35-40wpm. But that doesn't mean there's any less letters to type. Also, you try typing like 40 characters right at 4am after having just eaten the equivelant of 4 bags of sugar and drunk about 3 litres of coffee.

Hmmm. You've removed the link from yer sig. Good boy. *throws Stealth a wookie*

btw, i don't know if they have this word in the UK, but 'shimmering' means... well... it's hard to explain, they teach it in kindergarden though, maybe you should stop thinking about your 'deep, dark subdirectories'... and seek help; and go to kindergarden

EDIT:  oh hell, i'll do my good deed for the day and explain

anonsucks!

do you get it?
shimmering, refracting, i don't know what the heck you want to call it, but don't try to change the subject.  The point is you've got a stupid link on your sig that everyone clicks on expecting to find your site, and instead they find their way into your 'deep, dark subdirectories'...

so what is your website btw?

why don't you leave me alone... you started this, do i have to be the one to finish it?

I have to admit, as childish as the arguement is, it's damn hillarious to read.  And Stealth, his link doesn't "shimmer".  Shimmering is a kind of property found in transparent liquids or metals when they shine.  You know, shimmer.  an0n's link just has a cool gradient effect going.  :D
Title: When "Star Wars fanboy" just doesn't describe it...
Post by: Stealth on June 20, 2002, 11:22:19 pm
Gradient was the word i was looking for, not 'shimmering'

but i really don't have time for this an0n...
you obviously have no life (which is obvious by ... uhhh ... pretty much everything you have said) and i on the other hand do.

You started this, it looks like i'll have to end it.

it's a pity though, i thought all the real dumasses the volition forums took with when they perished... oh well, i may be wrong sometimes.

peace out

There was some stupid reason like they couldn't ensure that crap wasn't posted in every thread. It got 0wned by the trolls and then by THQ. But like I said, I was already long gone and had lost interest anyway.

And example, a picture, a quote, a 7 year old retarded child signing an explanation? Gimme a clue.

If you two want to be at each others throats then do it in The Rift or some other forum, this forum doesn't need the childish behaviour.
