Ever since I played Dimensional Eclipse with the 3.6.13r INF sse2 build my computer will not use any other build except the Diaspora build. I got an error message that said “Failed to create the command recognition context”. I have no idea how to fix it and I don't want to continue using 3.6.13r. I tried the debug builds but it stops before it even gets started with the same message.
Is there any way to fix this problem?

There is no such thing as an SSE3 build, I assume you mean SSE2?
Anyway, try selecting the 3.6.14 official build in the launcher. And if it still doesn't work, post a debug log (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.msg1180359#msg1180359).

Well you can definitely build with SSE3 enabled, it's just not one of the official FSO builds.
-
No, you can't. The MSVC compiler does not generate SSE3 code (Because MS believes, correctly I might add, that coding for SSE3 is something best left to actual coders instead of trying to come up with autovectorization code for the compiler).
-
Oh. I was basing that statement on GCC.

Have you tried a new pilot?
Either way, you're not going to get DE to work with 3.6.14. Although it's the newest official build, it's way behind the build that DE was designed to work with.

I didn't want to but I reinstalled the game and backed up everything before hand and it seems to have fixed the problem I can't say for sure what went wrong with my computer or game but its working now.
