Title: Version Conflict?
Post by: AV8R on November 10, 2012, 02:28:59 pm
Ok, so which one is right? The file properties version or the in-game version?

Check the attachments....

Technically, the file property is the right one. The other one was an oversight.

That's kinda funny - everyone was so exciting to get out 3.6.14 Final that they forgot to name it 3.6.14 Final....  ;)

Perhaps there will be a 3.6.14 Finally to fix the oversight?

No.

To repeat my answer from the last time someone asked about it: We're done with .14. There will be no further .14 builds. Deal with it.

Dude, didn't you see the italics? I wasn't asking for fix, I was making an cheeky observation - which was obviously lost on you.

Consider me "dealt"....

In general it's not a good idea to paint your testicles with honey and then poke at a bear.

Suggesting to a coder that we add to 3.6.14's already ridiculous development time by rereleasing it is somewhat similar, even if done in jest. :p

While on the subject, FRED 3.6.14 official still reports itself as RC6. Not worth a rerelease, but there might be some more newbies confused by this in the future.

If you are ambitious enough, you could always hex edit the executables yourself...

Or build a fixed one from the released source.  Probably easier.  Except for FRED, you'd need paid software for that so maybe not easier for everyone.
