Title: Same problem Crashing in the middle of a briefing

it would be a shame for a pilot to die before his first assignment right?
let me go straight to the point
The game freezes in the briefing
here
Mission: Gilding The Lily
has a 1024x768 loading screen but no 640x480 loading screen!

Here is my specs
Operating System:Windows XP
Computer:Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33Ghz
Memory:1.95 GB of RAM
Graphics:Intel(R) Q35 Express Chipset Family
my computer was newly bought since my old pentium was loaded with virus due to mozilla
can it run on Radeon X550?

Intel Graphics chips are not supported, neither is graphics hardware as old and decrepit as the Radeon X550.

I see 3 issues.

1) Your hardware is pretty old. You might manage to get it to work if you turn off post-processing and shaders (check the launcher's advanced section for that).

2) You haven't patched the game. Update to 1.0.4 now.

3) You're running the debug build and not the standard one. Maybe you did that so we could figure out what was causing the crash, but if not stop using the debug build and switch back to the normal one.
