I know I said that my campaign's basic storyline is already planned out, but on further reflection I've realized that it still needs a lot of work to avoid becoming a horrible disjointed mess. The problem is, I have little writing skill and in order to make a decent storyline I'll probably need to rewrite it several times, and to this end I'll need some feedback.
However, I can't just publicly release the entire thing before it's done. I also don't know anyone in real life who's objective and knowledgeable enough about FreeSpace that I would trust them as an editor. So, I'll need to get help from someone else on this forum.
Let me be clear: I'm not asking anyone else to write my story for me. All I need is someone who can offer criticism and suggestions so that I can improve my ideas. Also, in order to ensure a reasonable quality I'll need someone who has written a story at least on the level of Volition's original campaigns.

I know a fair bit about FreeSpace's canon, although don't trust me to remember the names of the nodes 100%. I'm also an aspiring writer, so I can probably help you with suggestions and criticism in the "decent storyline" department.
Also, I think you may want to lower your standard in regards to the "story on the level of retail FS2 campaigns" since most of those people are probably busy with their own mods, so I don't think you'll be able to find a lot of people who have.

PM it to me and nag me a bunch. I'll give it a poke.

In that case, I'll send you a mostly-done backstory document. One of my problems is that I'm not sure how to finish it.

As long as you're familiar with the basic setting that's fine. :)
Considering that FS2 isn't all that storyline intensive, I thought it wouldn't be too hard to find someone with that level of narrative skill.

That's okay, man. But like I said, most people will probably be busy, so just keep in mind you don't want to have your standards too high - otherwise, the list of people who can help will get short quickly.
Oh, and can you PM me, too?

Sure.
