what about campaign generator it generats missions and campaigns
for me alone
not for other
it will create campaigns and missions

Haven't there already been a few threads about this? I think it was mildly plausible, but too difficult to set up.

but it will only generate the campaign i can say how mutch missions there will be

Computers cannot create stories.

Well, they can, but only rudimentary ones.  A computer-generated story isn't going to be immersive or engaging.

While it's not impossible, the coders who would add a feature like this one would probably be someone like myself or Goober who know FRED very, very well. The problem is that I can't imagine any of the coders who know FRED that well not thinking it would be a better use of their time to just FRED something instead of trying to teach FS2 how to make missions itself.

The simple fact is that I could probably FRED about a thousand generic missions in the time it would take me to make even 1/10th of the changes I'd need to make in order to have a skirmish mode generator. It's just simply not worth the hassle.

You mean those cheap self-insert fictions Quark tries to pass off as "imported" just because they're from Cardassia?  *****, please.  Those things are worse than Mad-Libs.

Wouter, are you even trying to understand what is being said to you? There is noone on the SCP team who thinks that building such a system is a good idea. The people who could do it all agree that the time needed to build a system that can generate missions and campaigns by itself is better spent actually making missions.

Now, your enthusiasm is commendable, as is your thirst for more FS2, but really? You come in here, all but demanding that we coders bow to your wishes and give you something that will generate more FS2 on the fly, and then you don't even have the decency to offer some sort of incentive to do it beyond "Make Wouter happy"?
