Title: The Green Chimera
Post by: Jellyfish on January 15, 2013, 05:09:51 pm
Using the alternative builds makes this happen. I think Forced Entry is the only time this happens (previous appearances at least didn't show this problem), but it also appears like this in the Tech Room.

Just to make sure, does it go back to normal after restarting the game ? Current builds seem to have random bmpman issues, switching textures at random.

I think I might have a similar error - whenever a light of sufficient magnitude (ship jumping out or supernova going off) everything seems to lose its diffuse texture - when the light goes away, the diffuse maps return

Yes, yes it does. Replayed Forced Entry, no signs of the Chimera being green.

Wait there are alternative builds?
Yeah, for people experiencing framerate problems with lighting, specifically burst of Balor.

I had this bug on Myrmidons when I first installed the 3.6.17 and the AoA update. I overwrote my old one with it because I'm a gigantic dummy. It went away when I deleted my blueplanet folder and installed AoA fresh like a smart person.

Reduce your -spec_point to more reasonable values.

You guys have your -spec_point set too high, try .3
