1: If you've got problems keep them all to one post, you don't need a separate thread for each problem.

2: You don't need to bump things this frequently - funnily enough people aren't on here 24/7 and therefore may not answer your question instantly.

First, check your video drivers, stay away from beta drivers I don't care how bad the old ones are, at least they work.

If the memory is one stick try switching out with another stick.

What's your operating system?  If Windows XP try Compatibility mode.

Check other seemingly unimportant components.  When I first got Homeworld several years ago, I had an add-id soundcard.  HW kept messing up, I tried patching it to no avail.  Eventually I had to pull the soundcard out and HW worked fine. So check EVERYTHING.

HYA SSC buddy :) Hope to find one of the oldest Squads still alive beyond the ocean :)

please tell about your OS...
most stable Geforce X driver is NVIDIA ver. 2983, 2311 isn't worthy - 2312 didn't make trouble until today..:). If there's a VIA Chipset the new 4in1 440 is available. Order of installing drivers is important: 1st Board-drivers, then Directx, then VGA.

All drivers are also available on my store's website http://www.pc-individuell.net -> FTP-server:
ftp://dark-enforcer.dns2go.com, but it isn't the fastest :( .

GL and GH from all Dark-Enforcers and the Brummels - hope to see you.

it might[I\] be your version of Direct X. FS2 came with built in support for DX6, and it works on my machine without a hitch on DX7.1. however, i installed DX8 (godawful) and nothing worked. the only thing that i ever got to work right after i 'updated' was Oni, and that's cause it used Open GL. if you have DX8, i don't know. the only way i fixed it was wrote zeros the the hard drive, partioned it into three sectors, installed Win 98 on two of them, one with DX7, one with DX8, and the third with Win 2000. surprisingly, the latter is the one that crashes less frequently. if at all. hope this is of some help.
