Hi there. i have recently downloaded the game and have run into the problem of spontaneous crashing. it seems to happen at fixed time limits of aproximately 10 minutes. I run an HP Pavilion dv6 with i5 core and a radeon graphics card. i have tried to drop graphics to med and it still crashes. any help?

Run the debug version of the game you'll find in the Diaspora folder, then post the FS2_open.log you'll find in the data folder afterwards. That should help us somewhat.

Diaspora doesn't actually support Intel Graphics. But quite a few people have reported success by turning off Post Processing and/or GLSL (shaders) from the advanced options tab of the launcher.

thanks it worked. :D

... i5 core and a radeon graphics card.

:headdesk: Why do Intel graphics get chosen over the dedicated card with FSO? This seems to happen to quite a few people with core processors + dedicated graphics (mine is nVidia, so it's not specific to AMD either)

Because FSO isn't in the list of games that those cards instantly recognize, DUH
It's not FSO's fault, it's the hardware manufacturer's fault.

How to explain the card not accepting you explicitly telling it to run FSO on the dedicated card? Only with a few older games, such as FSO... IDK, like either the game gets around your request by selecting the first graphics card or something, that's what my gut says FWIW.
