Title: Re: Another Mission 6 Crash
Post by: lirian on February 18, 2013, 06:35:01 pm
Hi, there.

Like OP just discovered the game a couple days ago, and I've found myself stuck on this mission because it randomly crashes.
OS is win7 64bits
Game is updated to 1.0.4

If you need further details just ask, i'll try to deliver them.

We'll need the debug log in your case. Run the debug version from your Diaspora folder and then post the fs2_open.log you'll find in your data folder.

Hi again,

Managed to run the game on debug (hell, it fraks fpses !), so here it is :

The log is attached and the the debug console showed me this :

Code: [Select]
Assert: team != -1
File: object.cpp
Line: 1841

ntdll.dll! ZwWaitForSingleObject + 21 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes

Thing I've noted is that some of those crashes randomly occured when the 3rd basestar jumped and the cylon nukes were being launched, then i'd try to target them with "B" and sometimes, it just crashes. That's not always how I crash, but at least it _should_ only occur when that 3rd basestar pop.

If you need some more, just tell.

Edit : another crash log uploaded, still happening after 3rd basestar popping & nuke being launched.

I'm going to split this topic off from the original since the cause of the two crashes is very different.

Just click no to that one and let the mission load. If you get a crash actually in the mission, that's the one we need info on.

When you get that message, you should get the option to click No. That error is a tiny minor one and isn't the cause of the crash.

Mission 6 is crashing for me as well.  Here's my .log file.

EDIT:  Nevermind.  I enabled the "Old Collision Detection System".  I'm all good now.

ImMrAwesome, I dont think that that is a fix to the problem, only a means to avoid it. This bug is still present.

You have hit this bug. (http://scp.indiegames.us/mantis/view.php?id=2847) Just in a different mod and mission.
