I guess Seth McFarland plays FS
-
Could be I guess, but it's a pretty generic design...

have to say this is closer to the mark for me, especially given the lack of a "neck".
edit:
Regardless though its a pretty cool find

The enemys also look similar to a SF Aeshma, they even have some red things on them.
they share some similarities, but not like the ship Stewie is flying to a valkyrie.
Stewie is firing red lasers, and the enemys are firing green lasers very similar to a Prometheus. and when the intro is over Stewie says "you cant talk i knock out your communications system".
-
certainly in western cultures red is the colour of the enemy, danger and or hostility, as for the general layout like the valkyrie ish fighter earlier they conform to fairly common conventions in fiction.
as for the lasers red is the colour of rebel ranged weapons while green the imperials
-
It's clearly fs inspired, 'nuff said.

with the additional caveat that it is not clearly fs inspired, nuff said.
This is like Halo fans freaking out every time they see a ring! in space! it's a halo omg

Actually, "good" lasers being red and "evil" ones being green might be a Cold War reference. Soviet tracers (especially AK ones) were (and Russian ones still are) generally green, while US tracers (for M-16s and the like) are mostly red. Thus the inversion of the usual "good" and "evil" colors (at least from US POV).

cool thanks for pointing it out and as you say given the era certainly a good point

Actually it seems to have elements from diferent sources, the final big laser canon is from the last episode of BSG for sure, that and star wars elements too, still the fighter look like a Valkyrie, the engines, the wings, body, even the cockpit, it just has the canopy extended, no neck and no wing weapons, the enemy fighters are of a similar concept of the SF Aeshma and even have a red mark.
The laser weapons also seem to fire like in FS... it maybe just a coincidence, but there is lots of them.
-
but...but... I wanted to freak out about it! :P
Now speaking seriously, that ship looks a lot like a valky, there's no point in arguing that. They probably got their ideas from some of the old school games as well.
-
Oh of course. There's absolutely no point in arguing that. Apart from some vague general resemblance, it's completely different.

"It's completely different, except for the ways that it's the same" - Everything, ever :P
-
Meh, generic design craft, had it been an Apollo look alike we might have been onto something.
-
The Vakyrie is not so generic.
-
Yes it is. Plus look-elsewhere effect.

just entered space fighter into goole and hit this

Now that's the proper usage of the term "alike".

He acknowledges his source material a little bit through the naming of the first picture, at least.
-
I've seen this episode a few times now and not once did I make a connection! :nervous: :shaking:

hmm where?

Filename has -pers

Not really. If you look at how the other pictures are named (*-front *-side) the last part seems to indicate what kind of view, in that case perspective.

exactly.

Quite correct. Plagiarism!!!111

Not sure what the Perseus has to do here, but the Perseus is a lot more generic than the Valkyrie.
-
the Perseus is blatantly a reworked Valk
-
Thats is like saying that the F-15 is generic and the F-18 is based on it...
But them you have the F-16, with is "generic" and them a Japanese F-2 apears and we think it is "just coincidence because the F-16 is generic"....

F-15, F-18, Su-27, MiG-25, MiG-31, MiG-29.... all the same generic design a 3D modeler spit out in half an hour, editing just a few details to give them an impression they're not the same thing. :P
The Raptor is just an evolution...
Don't even get me started on civilian planes.
The ship from Family Guy does look like the Valkyrie in the rear view, and the ship from here:

...is pretty much a Perseus.

Bureaucracy. this is why we can't have nice things.

I found the part i was talking about in youtube, with bad quality but well...
