Fixing mesh errors and more texturing now with a test version of normals/shine maps applied to it. I am planning to prepare the model for conversion so the work on docking/undocking animation can get started.

There's something weird going on with the docking collar. I think it might be related to the normal maps. The yellow lights look much brighter from behind then when looking at the craft from almost directly ahead.

I don't see that issue now, maybe bacause they got updated.

The problem axis is now port-starboard instead of fore-aft. I dunno, maybe it's just the way p3d is displaying it to me.

When checking the maps ingame, I found no evidence of this error and makes me think this is just how p3d does things.

In general, people should get it into their heads that p3d is never going to be an accurate representation of what you'll see in FSO. Polygon errors are great to report, but weird texture stuff should in most cases be ignored. For one thing, p3d doesn't do glowmaps. p3d just renders things differently than FSO will.
Granted p3d is still a pretty new tool for us to use to be showing WIP models, so there will be some 'training of the masses' to do on it yet. So today's lesson, to summarize, is that you should almost always ignore weirdness relating to glows when viewing in p3d.

Probably to scale- the isis is ridiculously tiny (less than 20 meters long IIRC).

It would be cool if you could always provide a fsmods (or similar) mirror for all your models. Mediafire is being actively blocked on more and more networks where I am.

Kinda, I don't want to get into a legal discussion here but, I'll say this: The isis is not a original creation, even if it's vastly different from the retail version, the very core of it is still based of a trademarked design. That said people are mostly free to do what they want with it as long it's nonprofit and finally just remember to credit the creator or at least ask first. c:

So I finally got around to downloading this... and I noticed that there's no glass texture. Looks like a gaping maw of that fisherman fish thing.

That is a bit strange, the glass is referenced in the pof, which uses a standard mediavps glass texture.

$5 says it uses glass-trans which is not in the MediaVPs 3.6.12.

The easy fix is to rip glass.dds and save it in data/maps as glass-trans.dds... but it won't be see-through. glass-trans might be in the FSPort mediavps too.
Of course, this won't be an issue when we get the new mediavps out.

I tried changing the texture in the .pof file, but for some reason it doesn't behave like it does on other models. Just looks like cloudy glass and the only ting you can see is the bottom of the cockpit.

the texture needs to have an alpha channel, that's how -trans works and that's how we do the new cockpits. We no longer have to worry about polygon order or anything. So unless you are changing it to a texture with an alpha channel, you won't see the cockpit at all.

I have no idea what you are talking about in terms of Oddgrim being stuck in the old days or some such..
The MediaVPs, starting with the next release, will use glass-trans across the board, and Oddgrim is aware of this. He's been using glass-trans in all his craft. That texture was simply accidentally left out of this model release.
