Title: Illumination settings
Post by: Hoot on April 05, 2013, 04:28:33 pm
Just out of curiosity, how is it possible to set illumination of gates and fighterbays/repair docks to such a high level as done in Everything is Permitted this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bak_XuI3tu0 (for example in 25:30)?

I think it's the spec_point option in your custom flags.  Set it to 5 or something, and that'll do it.

No idea why you'd want to though.  I think that looks hideous.

:) Thank you, I will give it a try. Maybe sometimes one must first encounter the worst to fully appreciate the best ...

EDIT Sorry, no dice. Log  attached, using wx_launcher.

Yeah cranking up spec_point or spec_tube will do it.

For exact reference:
http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Command-Line_Reference#Lighting (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Command-Line_Reference#Lighting)
And also:

You set the -spec_tube to 5, while its probably -spec_point or -spec_static that you are after. Also, does 10,00 work for ambient? I have never seen a comma used in the command line.

It seems my command line was still messed up (therefore the impossible "10,00"). I have tidied files up and now it works! Ow, suddenly there are so many colors ...
